"A Palm Springs–inspired Italian pizzeria and market being developed in the former Will Leather Goods building, this project from Heirloom Hospitality received Historic District Commission approvals for exterior changes. The design pairs McIntosh Poris on the exterior with Parinion on the interior and plans for a large, south-side outdoor annex facing the parking lot with retractable glass windows, skylights, and a small patio fronting Second Avenue to create an open-air feel. The restaurant will seat upward of 300 people and will be led in the kitchen by former Otus Supply chef Myles McVay; promotional materials also show a pink-and-white awning leading to a takeout window and a privacy wall at the rear slated to feature a large mural by Tristan Eaton. Construction is expected to begin soon, and the anticipated opening has been pushed from November to next March." - Brenna Houck
