"Located at 4 Old Point Rd. inside the former Angie’s Service Station space, I saw Sunset Club open late last week with a huge outdoor dining section (with fire pits!), a four-season indoor dining room and bar, and breathtaking views across the northern stretches of the Great Marsh near where Plumbush Creek begins to empty into the Merrimack River. The restaurant will primarily operate as an outdoor space and can accommodate 164 diners. Its menu features a mix of mostly seafood dishes inspired by cuisines from around the world — including poke, fish tacos, ceviche, oysters, cod cakes, and shrimp Louie — while non-seafood options include a smashed patty burger, a Cuban sandwich, veggie tacos, duck empanadas, and more. The bar menu highlights frosé, frozen margaritas, beach-inspired cocktails (including Sunset Club’s take on a piña colada), plenty of canned beer from Corona to Notch, and a small selection of wine." - Terrence Doyle
