"Cocina 35, a San Diego institution with outposts all over the city, is known for its chilaquiles, a staple Mexican breakfast. The Point Loma location, though, in the former Navy barracks of Liberty Station, is the company’s first sit-down restaurant and has expanded the menu’s food and drink offerings significantly. Order the del mercado chilaquiles, which has carnitas braised in Coca-Cola and just the right amount of salsa verde heat, with a side of cinnamon sugar churros and a hot de olla latte. The vibe is loud — it’s a great stop for big groups or families — and though there’s ample indoor and outdoor seating, you’re going to want a reservation.
