Chipotle Pays D.C. Over $322K to Resolve Alleged Child Labor Violations - Eater DC
"Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. has agreed to pay D.C. $322,400 and implement a comprehensive training and workplace compliance plan to settle allegations of labor law violations. The company allegedly broke child labor laws more than 800 times over the past three years, with infractions including allowing minors to work past 10 p.m., more than eight hours a day, and over six consecutive days in a week. Chipotle operates 20 locations in D.C., but the settlement did not specify which ones violated child labor policies. As part of the agreement, Chipotle must provide training on child labor laws to managers and supervisors and ensure that store managers personally review labor policies with newly hired minors." - Tierney Plumb
