"A new counter-service spot from Austin restaurant consultant Harlan Scott, Industry is now open in San Marcos in the Square next to the new Hops & Grain brewery at 110 East Martin Luther King Drive. Its casual, all-day menu from partner and Cafe Josie chef Todd Havers ranges from snacks like elote to bowls, tacos, sandwiches (including a smoked-and-fried chicken sandwich that uses the house smoker), salads, wraps, and desserts; items span healthy options such as a spicy chickpea bowl to heartier dishes like fried chicken smothered in poblano gravy. Fans of Havers's Clarksville restaurant will recognize menu touches like pimiento beer cheese with pepper jelly and crispy Brussels sprouts, and the Sunday-only brunch features dishes such as a smoked cheeseburger benedict and a brisket-on-a-bagel with fried egg, poblano cream cheese, and house barbecue sauce. Drinks include beer (several from Hops & Grain), draft cocktails, wines (presumed to be the first in San Marcos), and frozen options including an Extra Frozé with gin and Licor 43. The restaurant offers a 10% discount to those in the service industry and is open daily from 11 a.m. to midnight." - Erin Russell
