Sonic Restaurant in Dearborn Starts Slinging Halal-Certified Food | Eater Detroit
"At 10403 Ford Rd. in Dearborn, I'm reporting that a Sonic restaurant has unveiled several halal menu items to appeal to the city's large Muslim community; the location went through the halal certification process, with halal meats processed under guidelines prescribed by Islamic law. Franchisee Tom Fakih says halal items won’t be stored separately but will be cooked on a separate grill, and this rollout comes despite the frequent missteps of other chains that have claimed to offer halal food." - Brenna Houck
