"In Eastvale I experienced Jerky Jerk as a true family affair run from Evon McMurray’s tract home, where her menu mixes northern and southern Louisiana traditions—pineapple upside-down cake, baked mac and cheese, oxtails, jerk chicken, fried plantains, red beans and rice, smothered potatoes and smothered pork chops—reflecting Cajun-Caribbean-African influences and a lifetime of cooking. AB-626 allowed McMurray to keep doing what she loves into retirement without opening a storefront; financially she can’t expand now, but the home restaurant provides needed extra income and keeps her house as a gathering place for family and community." - Farley Elliott
