"Debuting in December 2021, the Creekside reads like a veritable love letter to mid-century Wisconsin supper clubs, complete with retro ephemera (a Fawn Fleetwood cigarette vending machine, plush red booths, and some choice taxidermy) and uncanny period details: the bartender humming Billie Holiday while pouring a draft of Bell’s and brandy Old Fashioneds so true to their sweet-sour Wisco form they feel almost like cultural artifacts. I found the cooking to be an affectionate, skillful homage to Midwest traditions—an unrivaled relish tray, baskets of eggy popovers, and a warming beef short rib with carrots and hash that feels heartfelt and expertly prepared." - Justine Jones
