"A two-level, family-backed restaurant from Dan and Caitlin Spain that aims to bring Chicago-caliber dining to the western suburbs, the project—four years in the making—was delayed from December to late January or early February. The menu from chef Eddie Jobin leans toward “food that’s comfortable” rather than traditional comfort food, featuring chops, unique appetizers like swordfish wontons, three entree salads, a pimento cheese plate, a $69 Alaskan king crab as the priciest item, and a $15 burger. The space includes a private event room for small parties and a design some locals compare to an English ale house; early neighborhood feedback has been positive. The owners hope to attract suburban families who moved out of the city as well as nearby residents who prefer not to drive into Chicago, with the concept inspired in part by Dan’s grandfather, who ran Spain’s Tavern on the South Side." - Ashok Selvam
