"A Toronto seafood spot where owner John Bildied—described as a seafood savant—recently died at 49; after years bouncing around he became fundamentally a Toronto restaurateur and worked closely on several notable projects, including the opening of Joe Beef in 2005, being recruited by Martin Picard to manage the Cabane à Sucre Au Pied de Cochon (a sugar shack about 45 minutes from Montreal), and helping open NYC’s M. Wells Steakhouse with Hugues Dufour; he was diagnosed with cancer in 2013 and died peacefully at home." - Tim Forster
