"A new spot opened in the Design District over Thanksgiving weekend but let’s start by addressing the eye-rolling name: it stands for Design District Bar. We may overlook the immature double entendre because it looks like the nostalgic dive bars we loved so much in the ‘90s and early ‘00s. Double D’s, brought to you by Jermey Elliott and Sung-Joon Koo, and the folks behind Ferris Wheelers and Sfuzzi. Aside from a penchant for the basement living room and fonts of the ‘70s, Double D’s features a six-page cocktail menu with draft cocktails (such as its take on the old fashioned using Earl gray tea), frozen drinks (including the Miami Vice: half strawberry daiquiri and half pina colada), a house cocktail list (we’re ready to try the Revolver, which combines whiskey, coffee mix, and orange bitters), and classic cocktails, as well as the usual assortment of beers and a short but respectable wine list." - Courtney E.
