New Pasadena Cafe Might Be Ripping Off the Egg Sandwiches from Konbi | Eater LA

"A brand-new coffee, pastry, and sandwich shop on Lake Avenue that’s only been open about five weeks, Pillow Talk has attracted attention because its sandwiches and branding look strikingly similar to those of Konbi: similar egg-salad shots, nearly identical packaging, and both spots offering a tamagoyaki sandwich. I noticed Eater reached out to Pillow Talk but the company declined to address the similarities, and two employees on site said they had never heard of Konbi when asked. The shop is currently being besieged on Instagram by Konbi loyalists posting comments like “way to be original,” “this looks familiar,” and “what a cheap knockoff.”" - Farley Elliott
