"Popular Dallas taqueria Chilangos, known for its juicy birria tacos, will debut its second DFW outpost in Plano today. The restaurant announced in a press release this week that it would open its doors at 7800 Windrose Avenue, inside the sprawling Legacy Hall food hall. A brainchild of founder John Garay and accomplished chef Joel Mendoza, the taqueria has proven seriously popular despite the ongoing drag of the pandemic, regularly attracting lines at its original outpost on Harry Hines Boulevard. The key attractions at Chilangos are the birria tacos, which are stuffed with chile-spiked stewed beef and a side of broth, or consomme. According to Mendoza, the recipe for the birria comes from his grandfather. Also on the menu are costra tacos, which involves a crunchy crust of Monterrey Jack cheese tucked inside the tortilla alongside proteins like carne asada." - Amy McCarthy
