"The chefs of LUFU NOLA are preparing to serve a special Diwali dinner on November 12. It's their fourth year celebrating Diwali as LUFU, but the first in their own restaurant. The restaurant is located at 301 St. Charles Avenue, a former Willie’s Chicken Shack, transformed into a modern, elegant space with a bar, navy blue-painted brick walls, breezy light fixtures, colorful murals, and a large wall map of India. The chefs focus on pushing the boundaries of traditional Indian cuisine. The five-course dinner menu includes a fall shorba, chaat with spaghetti squash, scallops with bessara, venison with burnt coconut and black sesame, and a dessert called “Not a gulab jamun,” featuring chenna jhilli." - Clair Lorell
