In the First ‘King of the Hill’ Trailer, Behold Chef Bobby Hill | Eater

"In the reboot’s first trailer we see grown-up Bobby working as a big-city chef in Dallas at a Japanese robata grill. Fans have known for a long while that Bobby would work as an "up-and-coming chef" in the reboot, and the trailer confirms he’s on the robata/ yakitori side of the kitchen—an obvious fit given his lifelong love of food. Even as a kid Bobby was always experimenting in the kitchen: he once ate so many cured deli meats that he ended up with gout, downed an entire 72-ounce steak just to spite his ex, and in the series finale "To Sirloin With Love" threw himself into elaborately cooking a hibachi meal that helped him and Hank finally begin to understand each other. As a lifelong fruit pie fan who also learned grilling from his father, the robata grill lets him “marry his love of food — and the love of grilling that he learned in part from his father — in the same place.” He’s also a beer enthusiast, crafting his own brews and trying to convince Hank to try better beers instead of swilling his cans of Alamo; Hank responds, “I have been drinking beer for 40 years, and I never wished once that it tasted more like fruit,” offering the most Hank Hill reaction to microbrewing imaginable." - Amy McCarthy
