"I observed that this buzzy Dogpatch spot began as a Potrero Hill pop-up and was moved by veteran chef Michael Gaines (who worked at Kin Khao and Manresa) and his wife Stephanie (who served a stint at Plow) from Provender Coffee Shop into its own space in 2016. By 2017 it had earned a visit from Chronicle critic Michael Bauer, who said that he would "be a regular on those weekend lunches when I want something good and don't want to drive far." By fall 2017 it shifted from fast-casual to full table service, upgraded again in spring 2018 with a new cocktail menu and beverage director Mathew Campbell, and in September expanded to seven-day hours; the menu featured tacos, burgers, and cocktails like the "Lionel Ritchie" (rum, lime, and lavender). Recently, however, the restaurant has been dark for weeks — Instagram silent since November 11, website links dead and hours listing only "Closed" — patrons and neighboring businesses reported it shuttered since before Thanksgiving, Eater found the door locked and shades drawn during a visit, and although Michael Gaines emailed "We are not closed. Temporary," plans for a return remain unclear." - Eve Batey
