"I found that Rodeo Goat Ice House recently expanded its burgers and beer to Plano as its fourth Texas location, debuting at 641 Powell Lane inside the new Heritage Creekside development near Plano Parkway and Alma at the intersection of President George Bush Turnpike and US 75. The concept, which began in Fort Worth in 2012 from restaurateurs Shannon Wynne, Keith Schlabs, and Larry Richardson, is known for grass-fed beef burgers with more than 20 inventive offerings, including the Chaca Oaxaca (beef and chorizo, avocado, pico de gallo, fried egg, queso fresco and Tabasco mayo), the Olivia Darling (kalamata olive tapenade, shaved cucumber, garlic & herb boursin, and charred tomato aioli), and the Sugar Burger (grilled peaches, candied bacon, caramelized onions, arugula, and jalapeño jam), plus options named for local personalities like oil tycoon H.L. Hunt and “Voice of the Cowboys” Brad Sham. The drinks menu emphasizes Texas draft beer and quirky booze-infused mashups such as the “Fainting Goat” (Revolver Blood and Honey, vodka, and orange juice) and the “Moontang” (Firefly Moonshine, Tang and “other things”), and desserts include fried pecan pie, shakes, floats, and Rodeo Goat’s infamous “goat balls,” which are fried balls of brie served with blackberry compote. The Plano location is currently open (Sunday–Thursday 11 a.m.–11 p.m.; Friday–Saturday 11 a.m.–midnight), and the brand has plans to open a lakefront location in Irving’s Cypress Waters." - Alaena Hostetter
