"Yeaaah Boyyyy! Hype man, rapper, and reality star Flavor Flav is back in the fried chicken game, joining forces with Boulder City’s Vinny’s Pizzeria to bring Flavor Flav’s & Vinnys Chicken & Pizza to Henderson. Taking over 139 Water St., the 1,430-square-foot stand-alone space was formerly home to 2 Dos Portillos and sits directly opposite the Rainbow Club & Casino and the Eldorado Casino, all a short distance from City Hall. Previous Flavor Flav chicken concepts include Flav’s Fried Chicken in Clinton, Iowa, Flavor Flav House of Flavor on Maryland Parkway, and a short-lived home inside Blondies Sports Bar & Grill at the Miracle Mile Shops, which also served barbecue ribs and “red velvet waffles.” Vinny’s Pizzeria namesake owner Vinny Cimino is already hiring and alerting future staff to expect an “early October” opening date. An approval hearing for a beer, wine, and spirit license has been scheduled for early September. In addition to the Flavor Flav secret recipe, future diners can expect imports from the Boulder City menu that features thin, stuffed, and Chicago-style pizza, pasta, calzones, sandwiches, cheese fries, and cannoli, cheesecake, and spumoni for dessert." - Bradley Martin
