"Set to open by June in the developing Barrel Lofts complex at 3622 Tejon Street in LoHi, this distillery and its on-site bar will produce vodka, gin, and whiskey on a shiny Vendome copper still. The concept grew from a dream sparked by an Alaskan heli-skiing trip and was developed by Scott Yeates with fellow founders and distiller Scott Coburn, formerly production head at High West Distillery. The bar’s drinks program will feature international cocktail variations, a curated wine list, and a monthly rotation of three beers from a local brewery, while partnerships with local chefs will yield a food menu that creatively incorporates spent grains. Sliding glass doors and an outdoor patio will open the space in warmer months, and in colder weather guests can sit at the bar to watch the production centered around the copper still; the team also plans to offer tours and cocktail-making classes once settled." - Camila Navarrette
