"Israeli chain Cafe Landwer is set to expand its Boston presence with a new location opening in Cleveland Circle in the coming weeks. The spot for coffee, breakfast, and more made its entry into the United States with its Audubon Circle location, an 80-seater which opened last winter. That was only the chain’s second foray outside its home country — it opened a single location in Toronto, Canada, in early 2017. The new Boston locale is to be at 383 Chestnut Hill Ave., just a moment from the Cleveland Circle and Reservoir MBTA stops. In a Facebook comment just a few days ago, the chain said that it’s expecting to open in mid-July (it had initially been slated for April.) Cafe Landwer is known for its shakshuka dishes with variations including feta, haloumi, and more, all in spiced tomato sauce, alongside various other eggy dishes. But outside of the breakfast realm, there’s a substantial menu that includes mostly Mediterranean-leaning salads, sandwiches, and mezzes, and a handful of pizza and pasta options. The Audubon Circle location also serves alcohol — no word yet on whether the upcoming second location will do the same." - Tim Forster
