"A counter-service stall that produces some of the land’s most talked-about items: its raspberry-limeade is the standout nonalcoholic, juice-based pick (with a sweet-and-spicy mango kick), and a new plant-based Impossible sausage pita at the California location is a promising, meaty-tasting option topped with slaw, jalapeños, and gochujang sauce. However, longtime favorite items show mixed quality: the Portuguese sausage sandwich has a cult following but has slipped in consistency (the Sichuan peppercorn sauce has lost punch and the pita can be soggy), and some snack and pastry spin-offs (a cinnamon-sugar churro variant, hog snacks, and a chocolate-filled breakfast pastry topped with Oreos) are either overly sweet, too tough to enjoy, or reminiscent of mediocre buffet fare. Overall it’s worth seeking out for a few standout drinks and the new plant-based option, but expect inconsistency on some signature sandwiches and snacks." - Carlye Wisel
