"A California counter-service franchise known for warm, filled taiyaki waffles and ah-boong (goldfish-shaped cones) filled with soft-serve has opened at the busy Silverado Center retail hub near Serene Avenue, moving into the former Rolled Ice Cream and Soulfish Poke space. The shop, which expanded to more than 20 stores in four years, pours hot taiyaki batter into molds and seals in fillings such as Nutella, custard, cheddar, taro, or red bean; ah-boong can be ordered in a cup or as a standalone cone and upgraded with soft-serve flavors like milk, matcha, milk tea, Oreo, ube, and Thai tea, plus extra fillings and cereal toppings. Open daily from noon to 11 p.m., it brings a personal spin on Korean-style desserts to the Eastern Avenue/Silverado Ranch area." - Bradley Martin
