"In Rockville, Maryland, the brewery 7 Locks renamed its flagship rye pale ale from “Surrender Dorothy” to “Surrender” after Turner Entertainment deployed its legal team and filed an opposition to the brewery’s trademark application, arguing the original name deliberately caused confusion and sought to profit from The Wizard of Oz; co-founder Keith Beutel told Washington Post columnist John Kelly about the change. The original name referenced a graffitied phrase on a Beltway overpass that frames a view of the Mormon Temple and invites comparisons to Oz’s Royal Palace with its dramatic spires. Ahead of Inauguration Day, the brewery also issued a special release of “Surrender Donald” cans." - Gabe Hiatt
