Anne Conness of Jaffa and Sausal Goes Coastal Italian in Hermosa Beach - Eater LA

"Chef Anne Conness is getting back to her South Bay roots, opening up a new coastal-inspired restaurant in Hermosa Beach this week. The new project is called Mosa, and it lands in the former Serve on 2nd space on Hermosa Avenue. The restaurant will lean into seafood and Italian flavors, including lots of pastas, a cioppino, salads, and alcohol. It’s a new turn for Conness, who also runs the California rancho cuisine spot Sausal in nearby El Segundo, as well as the Israeli-leaning Jaffa restaurants. Expect plenty of craft beer and oysters at the bar, of course. The Mosa space itself is as casual as they come, with roll up doors pulling in the action from the street. There’s a bar area, grey and light wood booths, some funky art on the walls, and room for around 100 diners at a clip, all in. As of now, Mosa is only open for dinner beginning daily at 4 p.m. That extends to 9 p.m. most nights, with an extension to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
