"An Ohio-born chain that’s cultivated a cult following for its creamy frozen confections, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams will expand to Houston by taking over the space at 275 West 19th Street in the Heights. Founded in Columbus in 2002 by James Beard Award winner Jeni Britton Bauer, the original scoop shop has grown to more than 30 locations nationwide (including Atlanta, Nashville, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C.). A job posting seeking a “shopkeeper” for the Houston outpost is no longer accepting applications, which could mean the debut will come sooner rather than later.
