"Closed over Labor Day weekend, this was the first of four neighborhood restaurants in a longtime local group that elected not to renew leases. Owners pointed to a collection of small but compounding pressures — rising minimum wages and healthcare costs, plus competition from new restaurants and delivery services — rather than any single landlord dispute. Management, led by a co-owner who began working at the restaurant as a busboy in 1995 and later ran the business, said nearly 200 employees across the group were given as much notice as possible and that efforts will be made to help staff land on their feet while celebrating the restaurant’s legacy." - Josie Sexton
