"The sourdough bread boom arrived in Uruguay before COVID-19 but escalated (in tandem with the rest of the world) quickly afterwards. Now you can get a great loaf at a handful of great bakeries around town, but head to Bertha also for fluffy medialunas, brioche cinnamon buns, and mortadella sandwiches.
