"The team behind Hungry’s in Houston’s Rice Village and Memorial neighborhoods is opening a second outpost of its Local Table brand next month. A grand opening is scheduled for Monday, June 3, in the suburban Lakeland Village Center at 10535 Fry Road in Cypress. The family affair comes from Shervin and Neima Sharifi, nephews of Hungry’s original founder, Fred Sharifi, who opened the inaugural Local Table location in Katy’s Villagio Town Center in 2016. The team spotted a need for a family-friendly venue in Cypress’ fast-growing Bridgeland master-planned community, which is getting filled by more and more young families migrating from city center to suburbia. The 4,800-square-foot building can sit 150 guests at a time, with a 15-seat bar lined with TVs serving cask wine, craft beer and cocktails. Operable windows open up to a 10-seat outdoor bar, complete with a dog-friendly patio and room for another 42. The globally-inspired menu looks much like that of sister spot Hungry’s, with seasonal lunch and dinner specials, vegetarian and vegan options, weekend brunch, and bar bites. Orders include wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizzas, Mediterranean salmon, kabob plates, and hearty salads. There’s take-out, online ordering, and delivery options, with catering coming soon. Schooleydesign, the designers behind Hungry’s in Rice Village, was charged with creating the look at Local Table. Elements of brick, wood, copper accent walls, and steel line the modern space, which sports “CTX” marquee letters across the main dining room as a nod to the restaurant’s Cypress locale. Local Table will be open daily for lunch and dinner, with weekend brunch served on Saturdays and Sundays." - Eater Staff
