Noe Sushi Restaurant Debuts in South Miami | Eater Miami
"For over two decades I’ve known Noe Sushi Bar (stylized NOE), named after chef and co-owner Noe Carmona, as a South American favorite for its Japanese–Latin American fusion; with 30 locations across Ecuador, it is now making its U.S. debut in the former Mi’talia space in South Miami. The expansive menu covers cold and hot starters, ramen, traditional and special rolls, main dishes, rice/noodles, and a mix of Noe favorites and Miami-only dishes. Standouts include the noe tataki (assorted fish and filet mignon with chef’s sauce), mizutako (grilled octopus with Asian spices and vegetables), beef tenderloin ramen (grilled beef, vegetables, and soft‑boiled egg), and the sake yama roll (crab, masago, avocado and cream cheese wrapped in potato threads, topped with salmon). Miami-only items I’d look for are Korean-style barbecue lamb tacos, pork belly tacos with avocado mash, tuna maguro tartare, the butter truffle crab roll (marinated crab in rice paper with truffle butter), and hamachi jalapeno aguachile. Sushi selections feature the makano, which combines maqueño, nori, octopus, crab, sesame sauce, and iku sake and features salmon wrapped in nori with ikura and lemon. Among the mains I’d try are the mariscos katsura (a creamy casserole with Japanese rice, corvina, Chilean mussels, octopus, shrimp, and vegetables), the prawn and salmon hibachi served teppanyaki-style with sauces, sautéed vegetables and fried rice, and the lamb ossobuco cooked for 72 hours and served with risotto. The renovated 3,000-square-foot space includes a new sushi bar and can seat about 140 diners between its patio and dining room; it’s open daily for lunch and dinner from noon to 10 p.m." - Olee Fowler
