"After opening last November and hosting several BYOB wine nights at its 12th Street location, I was glad to see Larakin finally granted its long-awaited (neighborhood-approved and prayed for) beer and wine license, signaling the end of a six-month soft opening. Owned by Jordan Chambers (Steady Hand Pour House), the Midtown coffee shop and wine bar serves coffee all day and shifts into a wine bar in the afternoons and evenings, with an all-day menu of freshly baked biscuits and focaccia, tinned fish, French cafe-style sandwiches, and cheese and charcuterie. Most seating is on the patio overlooking 12th Street while the inside is essentially standing room only, which suits the place’s vibe—lingering is the name of the game. It’s currently open Wednesday–Sunday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Chambers hopes to expand to seven days a week this fall." - Beth McKibben
