"Giddy Ups, a longtime Austin honky-tonk, bar, and live music venue, will be closing in August due to a change in lease ownership. The bar has been a community-oriented venue, operating on a month-to-month lease since the pandemic began in 2020. The owner, Michael Morgan, took over the business after his mother Nancy M. Morgan's passing. The venue has been known for its live music programming, karaoke, and open mics. The team hopes to reopen in a new location and plans to have a farewell party in late August." - Nadia Chaudhury
