"I'm reporting that the new Honeygrow is scheduled to open at 10:30 a.m. on May 11 at 12100 Sunset Hills Road in Reston; the 2,500-square-foot, tech-savvy fast-casual spot will let customers personalize salads and stir-fries via touch-screen ordering stations, with featured proteins including chicken, beef, shrimp, and roasted tofu, plus a “honeybar” with local honey, fruit, and various toppings. Catering will be offered at the Reston location for the first time, and the restaurant plans to donate $5 from every stir fry or salad sold on opening day to the nonprofit Back on My Feet. New seasonal items include a shiso basil pesto stir-fry with fresh-made egg white noodles, roasted shrimp, asparagus, green beans, peas, scallions, and shiso-basil pesto, and a hakusai salad with mustard-miso dressing, organic baby arugula, napa cabbage, asparagus, edamame, carrots, honeydew, hot-and-sour pickles, and cashews. The company — founded in Philadelphia and operating locations in Chinatown, Pentagon City, and Rockville — is bringing back its original Chinese takeout-style boxes marked with funky art and is seeking local designers to decorate region-specific boxes following a growth push after a $20 million funding round in 2016." - Tierney Plumb
