"Canceled for the first time in its 60-year history, Wurstfest in New Braunfels was called off this year because of the novel coronavirus pandemic. Festival president Randy Rust said, “We made this decision knowing what a difficult year 2020 has been,” and explained that required safety-driven changes and related operational restrictions meant they “just didn’t feel [we] would be able to provide the Wurstfest experience we are known for.” The event—originally scheduled for November 6–15—plans to stage some form of effort to help local nonprofits that rely on its fundraising (details to be announced later), and organizers intend to return November 5–14, 2021 after never having canceled before, even following last year’s fire." - Nadia Chaudhury
