"The first ax-throwing bar in the immediate Boston area debuts this weekend, although without the bar part for now. Philadelphia-based chain Urban Axes comes to Somerville, opening its doors for ax-throwing at 5 p.m. on Friday, December 7. The venue will offer reservations for groups and corporate events, some walk-in hours, and coaches onsite to provide instructions and keep an eye on ax-throwing sessions. There will also be recreational and competitive leagues which will be able to participate in competitions locally and beyond. Urban Axes participants throw the axes at wooden targets at the end of a designated lane.
