"Non-management employees at this location voted 10–1 on June 6 to unionize after an organizing effort that began in January, making it the first Starbucks in Atlanta to form a union. Workers organized with Starbucks Workers United and cited the drive for better pay and benefits; the vote was overseen by the National Labor Relations Board. The result comes amid a broader regional and national wave of Starbucks organizing and a corporate response promising wage increases that organizers say may be intended to discourage union drives.
