"Jazzed up with neon-lit tubes, geometric shapes, squiggly wallpaper, and graphic odes to its clawed mascot, Arlington’s zippy new pizza pad was designed with The Max set from Saved by the Bell as its muse and debuted March 24 as a 10,000-square-foot, server-less, 21-and-up hangout from chef Johnny Spero, bar owner Scott Parker, and Aslin Beer Company. Orders are taken at a big blue bar up front or via QR-code-enabled communal tables (takeout and delivery arrive in a few weeks), and hours are 3 p.m.–10 p.m. Sunday–Thursday and 3 p.m.–1 a.m. Friday–Saturday. The menu skews throwback and fast-casual — thin-crust and crispy Chicago-style tavern pies ($16–$24) built with whole milk mozzarella, pecorino romano, and smoked tomato sauce; smash burgers; wings; loaded tots; and Spero’s named favorite, a white-sauce little neck clam pie with basil, roasted garlic, and fontina. Other highlights include panko-breaded cheese curds served with an Outback-sauce–inspired dipper, a pit-beef sandwich with cheddar whiz on a Martin’s potato roll (served with tots or fries), and desserts ranging from panna cotta to a Breyers vanilla float with homemade draft root beer. Vegetarian options include an Impossible burger, burrata, Caesar and wedge salads, an eggplant parm sandwich, and a labneh-seasoned smoked cauliflower starter with lime, grapefruit zest, and black pepper. Aslin supplies ten beers on tap and quick-serve draft cocktails like an Old Fashioned and orange crush, and patrons can drink outside on the patio or roam the shopping center with Aslin cans thanks to an on-site alcohol license; an island bar in the plaza is planned for early May." - Tierney Plumb
