"Debuted last week in North Park, I visited the new distillery and restaurant that serves as a home for Six One Nine Vodka. Located at the corner of 30th Street and Lincoln Avenue, the 4,200-square-foot space houses a custom-made two-column 1,000L still and a dog-friendly patio, and it will develop new products on-site while offering a tasting room, bar, and restaurant. Founder Nick Apostolopoulos has been making Six One Nine Vodka locally since 2012 using cane sugar to produce a gluten-free vodka available in a variety of all-natural infusions made with local ingredients. The bar features a large cocktail menu built with Six One Nine spirits as well as drinks highlighting Southern California’s craft distillery community, and the company plans to expand its product line to include cellos, liqueurs, syrups, schrubs, and bitters. The menu, created to pair with cocktails, includes charcuterie, bone marrow, chicken wings, a rib-eye steak, beef tartar, short rib poutine, mussels with a coconut curry, and hummus. The venue is open Monday–Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to midnight." - Susan Stapleton
