"After nearly nine years in the Design District, this popular taqueria—owned by Durango native Emilia Flores—has permanently closed, with Flores citing diminished foot traffic during the COVID-19 era as the cause. It was well-regarded for Flores’s tacos and salsas and equally notable for its charitable work: a longtime coat rack that provided winter clothing to those in need (drawing donations from across Texas), regular food donations, and prepared meals for essential workers during the pandemic. Flores has not announced her next plans but said, “I just want to make everyone’s lives a little better,” and is looking for ways to continue helping others." - Amy McCarthy
