"A Cajun food truck run by owner Beau Hobbs, a Baton Rouge native who grew up cooking seafood and opened his first trailer in Manchaca in 2016, is now operating a second, stationary truck at Quickie Pickie in the Holly neighborhood. The truck serves Cajun-style seafood including fried oysters, crawfish hushpuppies, and fried alligator, plus rotating daily specials. Hobbs — who has 27 years in the service industry and previously worked at Maggie Mae’s and Word of Mouth Catering — hopes to eventually open a brick-and-mortar if the right investor appears and is even considering delivery options. Current hours are 11 a.m.–8 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday, and 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday; the new, non-mobile location (at 2027 East Cesar Chavez Street since January) aims to capture dinner traffic and benefit from the host location’s extensive beer taps." - Erin Russell
