This New LA Restaurant Harkens Back to 1940s South Central Jazz Scene - Eater LA
"Somerville, the full-service restaurant will offer American food with cocktails, a hearty wine list, and live music beginning November 22, 2024. The restaurant is inspired by Historic South-Central’s vibrant scene from 1921 to 1956 and features mahogany, white oak flooring, custom banquettes, and a grand piano. Chef Geter Atienza designed the menu with starters like Parker house rolls, charcuterie, crudo, and oysters, and entrees including braised lamb shank, a Black Angus burger, and wagyu strip loin. Desserts include a dark chocolate torte and a no-bake cheesecake. The beverage menu features a mostly West Coast wine list and cocktails named after jazz greats or notable Black culture icons." - Mona Holmes
