LA’s First-Ever Hello Kitty Cafe Is Opening at Universal CityWalk | Eater LA
"I saw Universal Studios Hollywood announce on Instagram that a Hello Kitty and Friends Cafe is opening at Universal CityWalk; the park currently sells Sanrio merchandise only on its Upper Lot and has not had any standalone restaurants or stores dedicated to the characters. A Universal representative told Eater the new openings will be located “close to the park entrance,” and some online forums suspect the cafe could take over the now-closed Francesca’s or the nearby Chick Chick Chicken. I also noted Angelenos got a taste of Hello Kitty mania in 2017 when the Santa Anita mall hosted a yearlong Hello Kitty residency, and Hello Kitty Cafe currently operates outposts at the Irvine Spectrum (Orange County), Fashion Show and Park MGM in Las Vegas, and in Vancouver." - Cathy Chaplin
