"After months of quiet testing, Present Tense in Wedgewood Houston has debuted a public omakase: an intimate six-seat bar where guests can take a 12-course tasting curated and prepared by chef–co-owner Ryan Costanza, with optional wine and sake pairings (including the partner’s Pure Land sake); during the testing phase I saw dishes such as tsukune yakitori with foie gras, burnt pumpkin topped with caviar, and Hokkaido scallop with truffle dashi, and the counter runs Fridays and Saturdays with two nightly seatings (6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.) at $170 per person plus $60 for an abridged pairing or $120 for a full pairing." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones
