"After 96 years in business, The Pie Wagon, a meat-and-three known as a go-to back in its heyday for Nashville’s music industry community, will close its doors after lunch service tomorrow. According to The Tennessean the closure, first announced on the restaurant’s Facebook page earlier this week, is due to Metro Water Department mandated plumbing upgrades that owner David Biggs has deemed “too expensive to do and stay profitable.” The Pie Wagon, the second oldest restaurant in Nashville (behind 110-year-old chili parlor Varallo’s) has had several incarnations throughout the years. Originally housed in a trolley car in The Gulch, the restaurant moved to a building on 12th Ave. North in the 1960s, eventually landing at its current location at 1302 Division St. So for those looking to make one last visit, the restaurant will be open until 2 p.m. tomorrow." - Matt Rogers
