"Located in Upham’s Corner, this recently opened spot blends Caribbean flavors with classic soul-food comfort, serving items like curry chicken, buttermilk fried wings and a heavy focus on chicken and waffles — the menu boasts 52 different variations, with weekly specials rotating through them. Common sides include mac and cheese, candied yams, rice and peas and potato salad. Owner Jermaine Tulloch, who grew up on Bowdoin Street in Dorchester, started the business as a catering company in Warwick, RI in June 2018 after a career teaching music and special education in the Boston public schools, and says he’s happy to be feeding his community. The casual space seats about 30, and current hours are Monday–Thursday noon–9 p.m. and Friday–Saturday noon–10 p.m., with hopes to expand those hours soon." - Terrence Doyle
