"Long known to New Orleans native Klie Kliebert, this powerless bar in Arabi — owned by Muriel Altikriti — became a central neighborhood distribution site after the EF-3 tornado: charging stations and supply hubs were set up out front and in the backyard, tables were filled with water, diapers, and non-perishable food items for residents to “shop” and pack into paper bags, flyers were handed out about free tornado-relief therapy, live music acts were hosted in the backyard, and patrons gathered at the untouched bar as the sun went down with damaged homes and utility trucks working nearby; the bar and Imagine Water Works repeated the effort the following Friday." - Clair Lorell
