"Mírate’s kitchen is now led by Alan Sanz, who previously worked at the now-closed Maizano Costa Mesa and Enrique Olvera’s renowned Mexico City restaurant Pujol. Tucked away up a set of stairs, the dining room at Mírate may be the lushest space in Los Feliz, with vines climbing the walks and small palms sprawled throughout. Here, Sanz serves dishes like kanpachi aguachile negro, Yucatán-style cochinita pibil, and honey-roasted carrots with salsa macha. Mezcal expert Max Reis mans the bar, serving drinks like the El Guero margarita, the Tu Compa paloma, and La Sonadora clarified milk punch. Find the semi-hidden entrance on Vermont, just before neighboring bar High Tops. Valet parking is available out front since Los Feliz parking tends to not be the easiest.
