"As part of a one-month reusable-cup pilot run by Muuse, I saw that Andytown at 181 Fremont Street is one of four independent San Francisco shops letting patrons order drinks in 12- or 16‑oz Muuse cups: customers download the app, scan the cup's QR code to check it out, get a $0.25 discount, and must return the cup within five days (or be charged $15). Muuse chose this SoMa location for its high-traffic 'corporate' surroundings and because the shop aligns with Muuse's waste-reduction ethos; the cups are double-walled stainless steel with reusable plastic tops made in Shenzhen, and the cafe is offering paper cups alongside the program to address accessibility concerns. The contract is currently one month, but Muuse hopes to extend and scale the pilot if it proves successful." - Eve Batey
