"After months of planning, Tinte Cellars has opened its first Seattle tasting room at 5951 Airport Way South; the boutique winery — which garnered gold medals in the 2020 Seattle Wine Awards — joins Charles Smith Wines Jet City, Cascade Cliffs, and Cloudlift Cellars in the neighborhood. Occupying a restored 1912 building, the 1,600-square-foot space preserves the original storefront while the interior received a rustic overhaul, and Tinte even restored an original scooter perched on the roof with a revitalized paint job. Though indoor tasting rooms are closed until at least January 4 due to COVID restrictions, Tinte offers limited outdoor seating on a covered back patio with a fire pit, plus retail bottles and gift packages; the on-site food menu is mostly light snacks (cheese and charcuterie trays, chocolate bars, and a selection of nuts). The introductory wine lineup features Tinte Cellars’s 2018 Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier, a 2016 William Church Cabernet Franc, and a 2016 Cuillin Hills Cabernet Sauvignon, and the winery plans to host events and produce a catering kitchen once restrictions ease while keeping its Woodinville tasting rooms and production facilities in operation." - Gabe Guarente
