"Located in Coronado, I learned that Sam Fox of Fox Restaurant Concepts introduced The Henry this week; Fox, an eleven-time James Beard Award nominee and founder of True Food Kitchen who calls Coronado home, has also launched Flower Child, North Italia, and Blanco Tacos + Tequila in the San Diego area. The Henry is an all-purpose restaurant and bar that opens for breakfast and coffee at 7 a.m. daily and serves lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. The Coronado outpost measures 5,176 square feet with a 1,445-square-foot patio, is smaller than its counterparts in Phoenix, West Hollywood, and Dallas, and features a Southern California–inspired design with more seafood-based dishes. Its classic American menu includes shrimp cocktail, charred avocado salad, rotisserie chicken, and braised short ribs, and a weekday happy hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. offers $6 wine, $8 cocktails, $6 parmesan truffle fries, and a $12 burger. Fox recently sold his company to The Cheesecake Factory but will continue to steer operations and foresees opening more Flower Child outposts in San Diego and possibly bringing other concepts such as Doughbird." - Candice Woo
