"With its well-established Los Angeles locations in Rowland Heights, Torrance, and Arcadia temporarily closed due to current dining restrictions in the area, Mo-Mo-Paradise’s just-opened restaurant in Mira Mesa becomes the only place in the U.S. to taste its version of Japanese hot pot, or shabu-shabu. Established in 1993 in Tokyo, with 19 locations just in Japan, the company has since expanded to more than 20 cities throughout Asia. Though the restaurant specializes in traditional shabu-shabu, with a kombu-based broth that simmers in a shared cooktop, it also offers a sweet sukiyaki base as well as tonkotsu soup and a kimchi option. Set up as an all-you-can-eat affair for $28.95 a person, diners are allotted 90 minutes to eat their fill from a menu that includes kurobuta pork shoulder, beef chuck eye, fish meatballs, an array of vegetables and tofu, and rice or noodles." - Candice Woo
